The Mumbai–Nashik Highway’s most persistent choke point in the Majiwada–Kharegaon–Mumbra belt is now in its final commissioning window. As per the latest updates reported on 13–14 February 2026, the new Saket Creek Bridge (on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway) (approx. 200 m) has been completed, underwent a heavy-vehicle road test on 13 February, and is expected to open to regular traffic within the next two days, subject to final safety clearance and the rollout of the traffic plan.

In parallel, the larger Majiwada–Vadape widening package continues to be tracked against an end-March 2026 deadline. Under this timeline, the Kasheli Creek Bridge (approx. 820 m) is also expected to become operational before the end of March, subject to finishing works and commissioning approvals.

Saket Creek Bridge: Latest Status Snapshot

  • Status: Construction complete; final checks underway
  • Road Test: Heavy-vehicle trial run completed on 13 February 2026
  • Expected Opening Window: Next 48 hours, subject to clearance
  • Scope: New four-lane bridge alongside the existing Saket bridge

Expected Traffic Flow (Directional Split Being Reported)

Once commissioned, the traffic handling being reported is a directional split to reduce conflict points at the creek crossing:

  • Thane → Nashik / Mumbra / Navi Mumbai / Bhiwandi: via the new Saket bridge
  • Nashik / Mumbra / Navi Mumbai / Bhiwandi → Thane: via the existing (old) Saket bridge

Kasheli Creek Bridge: Delivery Tracked To The End-March Window

The Kasheli Creek Bridge (approx. 820 m) is a key structure for smoother heavy-vehicle movement toward the Bhiwandi–Mankoli logistics belt. Current corridor tracking continues to place its commissioning within the broader end-March 2026 delivery window for the Majiwada–Vadape widening package. As with all highway commissioning, the actual opening date will depend on approach readiness, safety checks, and traffic integration.

Administration’s Pre-Monsoon Direction: Road Readiness And Pothole Risk

In the same period, district-level reviews have reiterated a clear pre-monsoon priority: complete road works before monsoon, and ensure potholes do not trigger accidents or traffic jams. This is especially relevant on the Mumbai–Nashik Highway, where rainfall can amplify both surface damage and congestion.

What This Changes For The Thane–Bhiwandi Property Market (Practical View)

Better commute predictability doesn’t automatically lift every location. The early impact is usually seen in buyer behaviour—how people shortlist rentals, commit to site visits, and factor travel certainty into decisions.

Early indicators to watch over the next 4–8 weeks:

  • Faster, more predictable peak-hour movement across the creek crossing can support rental stability in Kalwa–Mumbra–Diva catchments, where many tenants are time-sensitive commuters.
  • On the Bhiwandi side, smoother corridor movement can strengthen workplace-linked housing demand for the logistics and services workforce.
  • For end-users exploring Upper Thane / Mankoli–Anjur inventory, reduced bottleneck friction typically improves site-visit conversion, because the drive becomes more manageable.

This is primarily a corridor efficiency upgrade first. Any pricing impact, if it appears, tends to be micro-market specific and slower.
